I am grateful to have had the opportunity to serve the people of Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Waller, and Washington Counties as your Justice on the 14th Court of Appeals for the past six years. I am running for re-election and need your support.

I understand the importance of community. In the past, as an attorney, I provided pro bono legal representation to many who would otherwise have none. I believe public service is also essential to maintaining a fair justice system, and I will always be committed to ensuring Texans equal justice.

Justices should make unbiased decisions and apply the law equally to all parties. It takes integrity and experience to render impartial, well-reasoned opinions. My tenure on the Bench, as well as my prior experience representing clients for 33 years in both civil and criminal cases and appeals, has given me the ability to apply the law fairly.

About the Position

The Fourteenth Court of Appeals is composed of a Chief Justice and eight other Justices. The Court has jurisdiction over both civil and criminal cases — except for post-conviction writs of habeas corpus and death-penalty cases — in a 10-county region. Those counties in the Fourteenth Court of Appeals jurisdiction are the following: Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Waller, and Washington.
